Well, you did say "little".  (Hint: don't say "big" either...)

One step up from the penguinised-router, you could look at thin-clienty 
PC stuff - some of them can take 2.5" HDs, or flash drives.  One source 
is store.epatec.net.

Two steps up is mini-itx stuff.  www.mini-itx.co.uk

Three steps up is standard PC bits from komplett.ie et al.
