Yup, that's right. lvmdiskscan won't work I'm afraid, at least any
versions I've seen can't report filesystem type. Is LVM even aware of
the filesystem type?
Again, ``file -s'' will work here:
# file -s /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00: Linux rev 1.0 ext3 filesystem data
(needs journal recovery) (large files)
