I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. Certainly when we touched this stuff
in college we were told that VHDL and Verilog were similar languages for
the same thing. A quick google suggests that VHDL stands for 'VHSIC
Hardware Description Language', with VHSIC meaning 'Very High Speed
Integrated Circuit'.
