SMTP is for sending alone. Receiving is done thro'
POP3 protocol or rarely IMAP. It could be port no. 110
or 143 respectively. IMAP is not so popular, so in
most cases it is gonna be POP3.

Try from windoze cmd prompt
C:> telnet 192.168.134.16 110

If it connects and displays a hello message, it is
good news.

You can also run an interactive POP3 session like this
and see if it works as it is a text based protocol. I
am attaching an example transcript.

C:>telnet 192.168.134.16
Connected to 192.168.1.2.
Escape character is '^]'.
+OK <1154672493.2873097136 at xmailserver.test> [XMail

Please note that whatever I have marked as
">" are typed by the user.
