are you sure that's correct? google says there are no "sound controller
(rev 0f)" results, but plenty of "sound controller (rev a0)" results.
the fact that they are 1 apart suggests that maybe you got a board with
a rare faulty sound controller (0f), which was noticed soon and replaced
with a working one for most other machines (a0).
so then, the problem might be to find out what is different between the two.
