One wild idea - it's an issue with find. Look what happens when you
make a directory and then remove it with 'find -exec':

$ ls
$
$ mkdir testdir
$ ls
testdir
$ find . -name testdir -exec rm -fr {} \;
find: ./testdir: No such file or directory
$ ls
$

Strange stuff - it works fine but pretends not to.

You could always pipe to xargs instead of using -exec, as in:

$ find /tmp -name \*.incoming -mmin  +1200 | xargs rm -fr
