If you are going to use mplayer I should also
point out that it doesn't determine the aspect ratio
of your monitor due to it not working in all cases.
Better be wrong most of the time, rather than wrong
some of the time I suppose :-p

Anyway for my laptop which is 1280x800 I need
to pass -monitoraspect 8:5 to mplayer.
