Not german but french, there has been some news there.
For a really cheap solution:
http://www.kimsufi.com/ (means fits my needs) 19.99 ex VAT
It's from OVH, well known provider. Other offers there:
http://www.ovh.com/fr/produits/offres_dedies.xml

Another operator Free (second ISP after France Telecom) has
http://www.dedibox.fr/ 29.99 ex VAT

They both strongly automated their offer. Don't expect high support but 
the solutions are fairly reliable. They operate also remote reboot and 
PXE boot on a recovery kernel.
