I am currently trying to convert my trusty old desktop to a server and
so far failing. The problem is that I want to use the onboard raid,
which is the above mentioned chip, but the dapper live CD does not
recognise the mirrorset as such but as two indendent disks. What i seem
to need is the linuxraid kernel module, and these guys suggest a
homebrew kernel: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/ATA-RAID-HOWTO/nativeraid.html
Now I'd rather not build my own live CD with me own kernel, and I have
not been able to find anything on kernel 2.6.
is there anybody aware of a kernel parameter I can use, or any other
suggestions?
thanks
Bernhard
