[ILUG] chekcing the install selected

Hi Folks,
In Solaris, whichever install type is selected like minimal, end user ,
developer is saved in a file with the contents as CLUSTER=xxxxx.

Is there a same way in linux which does it. /root/insallog saves the
packages installed but not the type of install like server, desktop etc. So
does /var/log/rpmpkgs.

Thanks,
--W
