As an add on to Ronan's last post ...
There is a Debian kernel 2.4.21 server set up that has/had 2 7 port Belkin
USB hubs connected to it. Connected to the USB Hubs was 14 Falcom GSM modems
connected to the server via serial to USB cables.
One of the USB hubs decided to give up the ghost so we replaced it thinking
that it would be a matter of rebooting the server. Unfortunately when we
rebooted the server it found the hub but would not recognize any of the
modems that are connected to it.
I've checked the drivers and they seem to be installed and working these are
pl2303 and mct_u232.
As Ronan mentioned if you have any experience with USB hubs and/or GSM
modems please let us know.
Cheers,
Mick

Subject: [ILUG] Gsm modems and linux
Bit of a weird request. I have a linux box that was setup by a friend of
mine with some gsm modems on it connected through a usb hub which has gone
down and I was wondering if there was anyone out there who I could pay to
come down to an office on Liffey st in dublin and have a look?
