Have you tried to do the following

	sudo dpkg_reconfigure xserver-xorg

and choosing the flgxr drivers to see if they work?

Subject: [ILUG] Kubuntu Dapper and HP L1706 Monitor Display Issues

Hi guys,

I'm trying to install Kubuntu Dapper on a new HP Compaq dx2200 machine. This
came with a HP L1706 17" Flat screen monitor. If try to set the VGA settigs
to 1280x1024x32 (by pressing F4 at the initial options screen) and then try
to install I get an error message on the monitor saying:
"Inpur Signal Out of Range"
"Change Settings to 1280x1024 - 60Hz"
I tried the live disk and it booted up but I couldn't change the resolution
off of 800x600. Running 'lspci' shows an unrecognised graphics card. It's an
on-board graphics card. In windows it shows up as an ATI RADEON XPRESS
Series.
I've installed the system with the default settings. Again, I can't change
the display.

Anyone know what might be going on? In the mean time I'll try to edit
xorg.conf but that's never worked for me before.

Cheers,

Sonic
