I don't know what OTRS is, and can't give a definitive answer without
seeing the source.
Does the lookup happen through AJAX, or through standard linear web
thingummies? If it's the latter, then the Perl is just not bothering to
refill the textarea. If it's the former, then search for some javascript
which specifically clears the textarea.
