It is... Here's a summary of the relevant part of the manpage:

pre-up command
	[..desc of pre-up..]

up command

post-up command
	[..desc of up/post-up..]

down command

pre-down command
	[..desc of down/pre-down..]

post-down command
	[..desc of post-down..]
----------------------------->8-----------------------

If multiple options are listed in a row, with only the last having a
description, then by convention they're synonyms.
