Ah go on, what did it cost? Nothing.

I have a Dell Axim X50v which runs Opie and GPE  quite nicely, and it
can run them from a flash card without having to replace the ROM on the
device.

Still, if you think that you would rather be in the hands of Microsoft,
Synce works really well, and pair it with multisync, and all that nice
data you have on the desktop is on your PocketPc.
