I read a few years ago about a project somewhere where they were
(seriously) using a camera pointed at a wall containing shelves of
lava lamps. The position of the lava in each lamp at any given time
was used to generate a random number. Can't remember the
organisation, but it was high enough profile, JPL, PARC, MIT, Berkely or
one of those.
