As a matter of interest, is this an NTFS partition?

Can one run programs like this from Linux on NTFS partitions?
If so, did you have to compile a kernel with NTFS write on it?

I'd love to find a Linux program that could clean up
my Windows NTFS Registry.
Does such an animal exist?
