Well, I don't think its a lame question. The "user friendliness" and
"intuitiveness" of modern conventional GUIs is vastly overstated in my
opinion, they're actually rather difficult for many people.
lt IS possible it's a bug, I'm not running that particular OO to check,
but you might want to try if you haven't already:
Hold down the left mouse button on the floating pane by its title bar,
and move it without letting go of the button. You should be able to
hover it "above" the main impress window with the floating pane's top
left corner pretty much in the position it would be at if it was
embedded in the main window again i.e. just aligned with the lower
edge of the lowest horizontal tool bar in the group of tool bars at the
top of the main impress window, and the inner part of the border of the
left edge of the main impress window. A rectangular outline should
appear when you hit exactly the right spot, showing roughly where the
pane would be if it was part of the window again. If you then release
the left button, the pane should snap back into place embedded in the
main window.
