What's the output format of the Hauppauge?
Anyhow, there are many free and non-free tools to transcode and author.
I prefer free AviDemux (as transcoder) but I am not saying it is the
best nor very user-friendly. There are also many GUIs for free
dvdauthor (as DVD authoring app), e.g. dvdstyler.
