Hello, all
I will need to replace an old PBX and voicemail system with a new
server running Asterisk at home. But I have never done it, so I need some
help :)
I want to build it on a rackmount server ( 1 U is desired), leaving
all phone systems isolated in it's own rack. But I am afraid digium's
PCI cards (I had TE411P in mind) can get trouble working on a riser.
The PCI card is:

For the server I was thinking in this two options:
AMD Opteron based:
http://encom.ie/client_images/GT24-B2891_1U.pdf
Intel Xeon based:
http://www.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/asmo-na/eng/products/box_server_products/server_platforms/ser_platform_sr1435vp2/index.htm
Both configurations would use dual proccessor, SATA RAID drives (160
or 200 GB each) and dual Gb ethernet.
We use a Primary rate Acess ISDN line with 70 phones (and a maximum
range of 100 numbers). We have a couple og analog lines also, but they
wouldn't be connected to the PBX.
Do you think there is something missing in those configurations?
Should I pay special attention to any specific detail?
Changing phone system is critical enough for requiring a contractor
with loads of experience.
Can you recommend a professional or company for supporting us in the
implementation? We would need some advice about hardware before buying
and replicate our current PBX configuration to the asterisk's box.
Thanks in advance.
