I tend to cut things like that down:
function strip_accents($text){
return str_replace(
array ('á', 'é', 'í', 'ó', 'ú', 'Á', 'É', 'Í', 'Ó', 'Ú'),
array ('a', 'e', 'i', 'o', 'u', 'A', 'E', 'I', 'O', 'U'),
$text)
);
}
that's probably a little faster as well (no obvious variables made, versus 3
variables by your one).
