to bring it back on topic, I don't think I could have stood a chance with any 
of the girls in the company - I was the only "street-educated" worker in the 
company - all the others had at least a degree, and a few of them had BScs as 
well.

I think that's why I left, in the end - I always felt I was being looked down 
on, and given the shitest jobs to do, despite being capable of much more.

Of course, in hind sight, I see that episode as very important in my own 
development as an IT worker. I was overly paranoid, but that forced me to 
concentrate on learning.
