no, no problem. though i'm not sure how insanely useful the content of
the message was ([politics nut]hey, but the sig might be useful![/politics
nut]). it was just inspired by several people asking me what line noise
i was typing the other day.
i've learned various unix tips and tricks from people since my first year
in university. I recall a directory on the unix cluster at school that
had loads of useful unix and unix-related tips that made learning unix a
lot easier (and freed up time to learn about kant, c, ada, fp, the italian
renaissance, vax assembly, linear algebra and discrete mathematics).
sometimes the stuff i just take for granted now is new and useful info
to others and so if i have time and someone points out what i'm doing
that's useful, i post it up here. padraig and brian are two people
i recall doing the same and i suspect one of their posts years back
reminded me i should do the same.
