I have been playing around with this idea for a while now, so here goes...
Does anyone know if an F/OSS blog exists (perhaps with an Irish slant)? I'm thinking of something like www.digg.com where stories of interest are posted and readers can comment. I tend to spend at least an hour (sometimes more) checking various F/OSS sites for interesting material on a daily basis. I think it would be great if all this material were collated into a blog (or something similar) where interested people could look at the material and comment.
If nothing like this currently exists, would anyone be interested in becoming involved in such an adventure? This would not be intended to usurp www.linux.ie in any way... I would see it as doing something slightly different, and could even become part of the linux.ie site. I would be willing to contribute time to this (as I'm looking at this material anyway), but I'm also realistic enough to know something like this would benefit from the sustained input of a number of people.
The reason I've been playing around with this idea is because of the success of sites like digg, and I've also been using blogs in my lecturing work over the past year with great success.
I would really appreciate any ideas anyone might have on this (critical or otherwise). Apologies if something like this already exists and I've managed to miss it...
