Hi all,
I managed to resolve the problems I was having with active directory and
it turns out the problem was somthing completely stupid on my own
behalf. Of course if I bothered to have a look at the logfiles then I
would have noticed it an awful lot sooner.
The problem was that the time on the test server was not within 5
minutes of the time on the directory server which meant that the
kerberos tickets could not be updated. The simple resolution is to
ensure that if you are running any Samba servers using active directory
for authentication then you should use ntp on them to synchronise their
time with the active directory controller.
Regards
Robert
