[ILUG] Digital waveform editor for linux?

Hi all,
    I need to bit-bang a device via a controller that accepts tables of 
binary waveforms.  Building the tables by hand is doable, but what I 
really need is a graphical editor (I'll be twiddling and tuning for 
weeks, and other very-definitely-non-coders may return to make changes 
later).

    I tried Google and Freshmeat, but just learned more about voice 
synthesis and audio editing than I really had in mind.  (Waveforms are 
apparently stored in binary, you see. Grrr.)

    Vast ranges of features are not important - I've got 6 control 
lines, and  fairly short patterns in multiple tables.  Open source would 
be very useful - I'd rather hack the output driver to produce what I 
need directly than write a separate converter.
