[ILUG] RAID Controllers & Linux

Hamilton, David (TSG C&I) david.hamilton3 at hp.com
Fri May 26 14:14:50 IST 2006

I have recently got my hands on an LSI Megaraid i4, already have a Promise
Supertrak SX6000 and a couple of HighPoint based controllers, and have never
been able to get any of them working properly under Linux.
I put the Megaraid into my epia system, installed FC5 and even though the
megariad modules autoloaded, the drives are mot visible/available.
Has anyone ever got any of these controllers working happily under Linux?
I'd obviously prefer the LSI or Promise since they are actual hardware RAID
controllers as opposed to half baked pretenders...
I'm trying to build a home server/NAS and am quickly running out of
patience.

Thanks,
	David.
