Ubuntu Dapper is being launched on June 1 and ILUG was planning to
hold a launch event on Saturday June 3. However, the interest was
underwhelming and it was pointed out that the weekend is a bank
boliday weekend, hence many people would have other plans. [I'm self
employed, so administrivia such as bank holidays tends to pass me by] .
Accordingly, it has been decided to move the event to Saturday June
10th and it will be held in our usual F2F venue, the lecture room of
the Irish Computer Society in central Dublin, generously provided to
us by the ICS. We will retire afterwards to a nearby hostelry where
we might partake of some fine food and beverages - or chips and beer,
as you like.
We plan to have a number of talks about Ubuntu and Dapper, but the
talk slots are by no means all full, and nor are the talks restricted
to those subjects. If you have anything to talk about that you feel
would interest ILUG people, speak up now. Some time ago Braun Brelin
was proposing a series of talks and AFAIR there were a number of
volunteers then - please feel free to speak up now.
Kickoff will be at 15:30, at the premises of the ICS - for details &
map, see http://www.ics.ie/main/contact.htm
As well as extra talkers, I would appreciate some level of feedback
from prospective attendees just to get an idea of possible numbers -
nobody's going to shoot you if you say you'll come and then can't for
whatever reason.
