Well, running it in VMware means you were running a hacked to bits
version - who could hazard a guess as to what might be wrong. ICBA
dual booting mine, as I have no interest in running Windows games on
it, though by all accounts it's a nice fast Windows box (but yuck! -
what a terrible thing to do to nice Apple hardware).
However, I have installed Parallels (a VMware like thing) in which
I've installed Ubuntu Dapper (no windows yet) and its performance is
what you'd expect for a 13500 MHz Celeron (well, that's what cat /
proc/cpuinfo says anyway :-) The glxgears performance is nothing
wonderful mind, given the layers of hardware emulation, but that's
not an issue for me.
