What is it exactly that you are trying to do?

Seriously I have to ask. Are you trying to roll your own distro or
something?

Between asking about replace for MySQL, ncftp, migrating MySQL data,
missing libraries for Imagemagick, rlogin crashing, configuring sendmail
on Fedora, printing from Linux to windows printers, custom VNC servers,
help with make, NFS timeout problems, Samba problems, startup scripts
and gzipping large files, one has to wonder what you are trying to do!

All of the above since the middle of October!

If you are having that many problems try installing a distro that is
easy to keep up to date like Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian etc.. There is
nothing wrong with using binary packages!

Cheers
Robert
