[ILUG] simulating an intermittent network problem: possible?

[ILUG] simulating an intermittent network problem: possible?

Hi all,

I'm trying to duplicate an issue with a web based interface that I
believe has to do with an intermittent connectivity issue. However, I
don't have a reliable way of setting up a test environment with a
partially broken network.

Does anyone have an idea how (if possible) I can cause packet loss on
an interface and simulate something like a dodgy cable/switch/nic
port.

I'm going to google a bit now and see if I can't get iptables to drop
every nth packet. Any other thoughts, comments, ideas?

Cheers,
Daniel
