There is an issue with the flash player whereby it tends to want direct
sound card access and I think to use OSS. As the plugin's proprietary,
nobody in the community can fix this. It causes all kinds of problems and
makes thin client flash player sound moreorless impossible for now. There
are workarounds on desktops:

Either that or use gnash -- which sadly, is a little less than
feature-complete at this point.
