easiest thing to do is to look at the existing scripts,
choose one that does something simple, and use it as
a template; i.e., copy it and edit it as appropriate.
for what you want, you can reasonably test the script
without rebooting, albeit yer final testing should do
don't forget any shutdown actions (if there are any);
and if there are some, to ensure there is a K99stable
(or whatever) script, which is nominally a hardlink to
the corresponding S... script.
there's also, e.g., Google™ — perhaps someone already
has done this and you can adopt that?
