Of course all you say is possible with Asterisk
But if you are in the USA with an Irish SIM you will be paying roaming
charges and for the terminating leg (ireland - USA) anyway.
Your best bet would be to pick up a prepaid SIM in the US and forward
your Irish number (via Asterisk) to that pre-paid SIM. Calling from
Ireland to US mobile via VOIP is cheap. You can check rates to a
