The Role- Postgres DBA
Design, develop, test and maintain database schema. Perform database
performance tuning tasks, identifying issues and solutions while being
responsible for developing performance improvement solutions.
Success will demand the ability to work both independently and as part
of a senior engineering team in a dynamic and fast paced development
environment
* Owning and maintaining the schema
* Working on PostgreSQL internals to add features and performance
enhancements
* Maintaining the installation and upgrade system for PostgreSQL
and DB schema on Linux
* Tuning performance for specific platforms and applications
* Troubleshooting and resolution of application and customer
issues
Requirements:
* Experience of tuning both Postgres Database and underlying Linux
support
* Hands on experience with database programming including stored
procedures, complex SQL, Unix scripting (Python/Perl)
* Aware of need for standards and quality
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Typically requires B.Sc./EE or equivalent with 6+ years relevant
experience in SQL Schema design and Postgres tuning.
