Why don't you copy Kmail's maildirs onto the imap server?
The last time I looked Cyrus was still stuck on mbox's, but can
certainly use maildirs, courier-imap uses maildirs natively, and I
can't speak of wu-imap, but I'd doubt there's an issue, then it
doesn't matter what client they want to use, web-imap, kmail, dovecot
etc, they'll be able to access the same folders via the imap protocol.
