ah. that sounds interesting. a quick peek inside didn't
show anything like that amiss, but I need to find some
assembly/engineering drawings before I poke around much
more. I do have some time to spare so will try poking
around a bit.
as you said later, Epson's work great when they work.
this is also my second Epson. the first gave years of
service until it hit its planned obsolescence. this one
worked fine for about two years until whatever happened
happened. of course, since it hasn't been used since
(for almost exactly a year), dried ink is presumably
also an issue (and possibly the original cause).
