[ILUG] ip over firewire

[ILUG] ip over firewire

Hi
I am trying to get IP over firewire (ieee1394) working
but am having no luck.
When I "modprobe -v eth1394 eth1" I get "install /bin/true"
but eth1 does not appear in ifconfig and lsmod | grep eth
only shows the wired ethernet port.
"lsmod | grep" 1394 shows
raw1394 30789 0
ohci1394 38537 0
ieee1394 294681 3 raw1394,ohci1394

Nothing shows up in either /var/log/messages or dmesg.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get more feedback
to figure out where the problem is.

Regards
Philip Creevy
