Hi,

Perhaps this may not be the solution to your problem, but yet you might be
interested in the new driver and firmware updates for the SAS 5/iR in the
SC1435.

NEVER update the firmware before updating the driver and NEVER update any of
them if any drive is failed or rebuilding, you may lose data.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&deviceid=9623&libid=46&releaseid=R149858&vercnt=3&formatcnt=0&SystemID=PWE_1955&servicetag=&os=LIN4&osl=EN&catid=-1&impid=-1
Dell SAS 5/iR Integrated driver (released April 10th 2006)

Dell SAS 5/iR Integrated firmware (released April 10th 2006)

More drivers for RHEL 4 on the PE1955 hardware (same SAS controller that
SC1435, which is not in the models dropdown).
You can get the updates for your server in
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/ entering the server's service
tag.

You can also call Dell technical support and ask them for firmware/driver
and documentation links, but I'm afraid you'll get no software support
unless you have Gold support, which doesn't seem to be the case ;-)

I hope some of this helps.

Regards,

Miguel Ángel
