Ah - that's on their site under Controllers->Serial ATA RAID. I had  
only looked at Controllers->Serial ATA which was silly of me.

Yup - I'd never use the RAID functions of a cheap card. Indeed, I've  
even gone away from using it on expensive cards as unless you're  
prepared to keep a spare card in stock, you're screwed, with your  
data lost in space, if the card goes.

That's the way I feel too, but from what I read, their current SATA  
kit is OK, modulo staying away from the fakeRAID.
