Hmmm I would tend to disagree with this advice unless you have some way
of accurately predicting the future disk usage of each partition.
Otherwise you can end up with the nasty situation of having lots of free
space on a disk but with root or home running out of space.
If you are lucky, this will lead to messing about with lvm and
filesystem resizing tools.
If you are unlucky this is a production server that you can't afford to
take down for that sort of maintainance...
It's really a lot less hassle to stick with a single root if you've only
got one disk.
