For the record, we plugged the camera into the USB on this (Mandriva 
2007 Free) machine, and it worked with DigiKam as a USB Mass Storage 
Camera. Was a bit of confusion at first, because Amarok wanted to play 
it, but after that it just came up as device sda1 and got mounted as a 
500MB Mass Storage Device and we were away.
