I do a continuous incremental online backup of my email (because I can) but
Dovecot's cache files (the dovecot.index.cache files in each dir) are
causing extra traffic. The cache is a Good Thing (tm) because it means fast
directory listings, but it's a bad thing when it doubles the backup traffic.
What I want to know is if the cache files automatically generated at run
time if they are missing, or will Dovecot crap itself and fall over? This
would enable me to use a regex to exclude them from the backup.
