Sure. Every iMac, MacMini, MacBook or MacBook Pro has IR & remote,
including an application called "Front Row" to watch/listen DVDs,
pictures, music and videos. Actually, Front Row is just an interface
to iPhoto, Quicktime, iTunes.
If you just want media player features go to AppleTV. It has an
smaller HD (40GB, if memory serves), but can communicate very well
with almost everything through ethernet of Wi-Fi.
