[ILUG] Unicode and fonts

Andrew McCarthy andrewmc-ilug at celt.dias.ie

Hi folks,

All this talk of Unicode reminded me of something I hadn't found a good
solution to. Suppose I came across a particular character in a file,
like the UTF-8-demo.txt mentioned earlier, which didn't display at all.
Is there any convenient way to locate (on the Internet, I suppose) a
font containing that particular character?

Conversely, can I ask my system "which of my installed fonts contain
this character"?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Andrew
