  | We're in beta mode with a new site, wondering if there was anyone
  | there risky enough to test. [ ... ] Any feedback welcome.

loose the fixed width. when the browser is set to render
text in a large font size, the &*%)!½ fixed-width means you
have to keep sliding the window back-and-forth horizontally
to read anything. (this is a different example of visual
problems than Darragh's case, and clearly depends on some
details like screen size, browser (I used Opera), &tc.)

e.g., I never did find the Help link until I looked at the
source: it's invisible unless you happen to notice it with
the window all the way over.

because of this, the site was too frustrating to use (for
me), so I did not try anything.

a Good Thing: the contrast, whilst variable, is readable,
or at least it is on the main page and Help page, which is
all I looked at before giving up. (poor contrast is my
other common Big Gripe about both web pages and GUIs.)

hope this is helpful,
cheers!

p.s. not being a mystic or whatever, I had no idea what a
venial was until I followed the Wikipedia link in the
(effectively hidden) Help page .... this amusing lack
of knowledge has no (known) bearing on the un-usablity
     (IMO) of the site.
