[ILUG] VERY OT Eco Bottle

[ILUG] VERY OT Eco Bottle

Thomas Rooney tom at dreadserver.com

Hi all.

I have been put under pressure to send this to the list and as Liam is a
supporter of FOSS
I have agreed to send it. I have not been able to find any way to make
this on topic other
than the links at the bottom of this mail have a 70% chance of being
served by a LAMP!

So without further adieu I give you Liam.

Regards.

A ‘plastic’ bottle made from corn (maize)

It looks like plastic, feels like plastic but when your finished with it
put it in your compost heap and in 4 to 10 weeks it ‘disappears’. This
little miracle is made in a carbon neutral environment so no greenhouse
gases are emitted in its production. I am asking you to sign my
petition, to ask governments to impose a ‘tax’ on manufactures and
producers that do not use it, just like the plastic bag ‘tax’ that
worked so well in Ireland. A tax on plastic shopping bags in the
Republic of Ireland has cut their use by more than 90% and raised
millions of euros in revenue.
Regular plastic bottles use finite resources (e.g. oil and gas) whereas
corn (maize) is a renewable resource as well as being one of the fuels
of the future.
