The word on the grapevine is the A[MD|TI] are to release Proper 
Drivers(tm) real soon now. Dave Airlie has done some good work on ATI 
drivers as well. Don't depend on proper ATI 3D support anytime soon 
though... it's still very much a black art, IME.
