Following up on my recent queries, I can now report that I have an
Inspiron 640m in my sticky hands.
Mostly quite straightforward to set up, apart from having to add
HorizSync/VertRefresh lines to the X conf file, and use
915resolution to get the full 1440*900.
ACPI is a source of major puzzles, though, and I'd like hints
please:
Hibernate works wonderfully, but on return puts the screen in
1024*768 and it does not respond to Desktop->Preferences->Screen
Resolution
Suspend returns me to a live session.
Closing the lid gives me a black screen, but looks like nothing has
stopped.
Finally, and this is not ACPI: I have timezone and time set
correctly, but on reboot the clock is always 1 hr ahead.
Pointers gratefully accepted,
Brendan
