Sounds like bad idea pants to me.
I'd freeze the drive with cables poking out of the bag, then be quick
about the recovery.
In short, you need to be completely ready to grab as much data as
possible off that drive the second you pull it out of the freezer. USB
enclosures make this better; just connect and go, no waiting to boot
up, no sticking the drive in the hotter case environment.
Have your scripts prepared and waiting so all you have to do is
connect the drive and hit enter. You won't have much time.
